In retrospect.

Miles ahead from where we were at.

Grab your sticks.

Which side are you on?

For all we knew that was it.

Laughter brings us joy as our minds churn away what ifs.

I’m here now.

For now.

All we needed was our company.

We keep reminders in our pockets back then.

Read aloud when we meet again.

The words scramble as we replay.

Bang a drum on this memory.

Unknowingly developing the lens.

We would look through later.

In laughter only to question what if.

We had no idea.

We just were.

And that was ok.
